SDMusicMatters.com?

On July 7th 2003, we walked into a quaint little office on La Jolla Blvd. There was no sign on the door, no “office” furniture, just bright yellow and white walls and a plethora of Ikea-esque chairs and tables randomly strewn about the place. The brightly lit room had horrible green carpet and an even worse insect problem that we became privy to months later. Little did we know that within these walls a simple idea of promoting and exposing local music would amass into a phenomenon that completely shook an entire scene. On that morning, we had no idea that the efforts made in that little office space would awaken a swarm of sleeping music fans and bands, and would launch this sun and surf town into being regarded as “the new Seattle”. Wow!

Had we known that 11 months later the website, rightfully dubbed SDmusicMatters.com, would have expanded to feature hundreds of bands, thousands of live and professional photos, numerous reviews and articles and daily web traffic that would make any IT guy blush, that first morning we walked into SDMusicMatters' original home on La Jolla Blvd. would have been like stepping onto a runway. This little website took off leaving a trail of fun and foibles behind.

Now we can look back and see that the foundation of loyal bands and fans aided us in giving birth to perhaps one of our most crowning achievements - SDMusicMatters the Magazine. The magazine is a full-color glossy magazine with content that can be found nowhere else, unique photos and cutting-edge style that has come to characterize SDMusicMatters’ appeal. Yes, this is our blood, sweat and tears. And we are indeed proud of it. We are grateful for your continued support because without it such an apex of achievement could never be reached.

We value your feedback, your suggestions, and your opinions because we have created this website and magazine for you. So take a gander at our creations, show it to your friends, and let us know what you think. Thank you.
